Gena Penn, ARNP, PMHNP-BCPsychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Gena Penn is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner trained to diagnose psychiatric conditions, provide psychotherapy, and prescribe medications to individuals across the life-span. She has provided care to patients from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. Gena is a competent, committed, and compassionate professional and has experience in multiple healthcare settings, including community outpatient, emergency crisis, and telehealth. She is skilled in assessing and managing patients suffering from physical and emotional disease and co-occurring substance use disorders. She believes that it is vital to consider the patient’s physical and nutritional status, resilience skills, and personal goals to optimize their psychological health.
Gena completed her post-master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University. She began her nursing career nearly 20 years ago as a Certified Pediatric Nurse. She worked for major pediatric hospitals caring for children from infancy to adolescence in Washington, DC, Maryland, California, Arizona, and Florida.
Gena is dedicated to providing individualized care to patients by addressing the “whole person” and is passionate about supporting her patients in their journey to embracing their potential to live their best lives.
