We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized individual to join My Psychiatrist, the fastest growing outpatient behavioral health group in Florida. The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely posting of financial transactions, particularly focused on auditing and confirming that the accurate payment is received. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare billing procedures, payment posting, and accounting. The Payment Posting Specialist will have exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with our finance and administrative teams.
Essential Duties and Requirements:
- Accounts Receivable Posting:
- Accurately post and reconcile payments received from insurance companies, patients, and other payers in the billing system.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between payment records and billed amounts.
- Payment Reconciliation:
- Regularly reconcile payments with remittance advice and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and rectify any discrepancies or issues related to payment postings.
- Data Analysis:
- Analyze accounts receivable reports to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues affecting revenue cycle performance.
- Generate and share regular reports on accounts receivable status, collections, and payment trends.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Provide excellent customer service to address payment-related concerns and inquiries.
- Ensure that all accounts receivable activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Process Improvement:
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounts receivable functions.
- Recommend and implement changes to optimize revenue cycle management.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
- All other duties assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare accounts receivable or billing.
- Must be qualified.
- Proficiency in using billing, financial software, and EMR systems (Tebra).
- Strong understanding of healthcare billing codes, insurance policies, and reimbursement procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other relevant healthcare compliance regulations.
