Dr. Humberto Caro, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer at My Psychiatrist in Boca Raton, Florida, dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized mental health care. Born and raised in Dorado, Puerto Rico, Dr. Caro brings a rich cultural perspective to his practice, deeply understanding the unique challenges faced by individuals from diverse backgrounds.
He specializes in general, child, and adolescent psychiatry, helping patients struggling with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), eating disorders, compulsions, and substance use disorders. Profoundly committed to improving his patients’ quality of life, Dr. Caro is certified in deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to treat major depressive disorder and is Suboxone certified to treat opioid use disorder.
His Journey and Approach to Care
Dr. Caro began his medical journey at the Universidad de Puerto Rico, where he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. During his residency in General Adult Psychiatry at Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, he won the Award for Excellence for his outstanding work with the Psychiatric Medical Care Unit.
After his residency, Dr. Caro completed a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Ponce Health Sciences University. With over two decades of experience, he is known for his empathetic approach, taking the time to understand each individual’s unique circumstances and tailoring treatment plans accordingly.
Dr. Caro believes in providing personalized, empathetic care, whether through in-person sessions or telemedicine, ensuring accessible support for all. His dedication to his patients and his field is evident in his continual pursuit of excellence in mental health care.
