Ahmed Ahad, MD

Born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Florida, Dr. Ahad earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University before completing his medical degree at the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. His clinical training has focused on providing evidence-based, patient-centered psychiatric care across a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Ahad is passionate about providing this comprehensive care to his home community of South Florida.

Dr. Ahad enjoys working with the adult general population and has a special interest in caring for individuals on the autism spectrum. His passion for psychiatry has been shaped not only by his clinical experiences but also by personal experiences with family members affected by autism, depression, and substance use, giving him a deeper appreciation for the challenges faced by patients and their loved ones.

Dr. Ahad is committed to creating a welcoming, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and actively participating in their treatment. He believes that meaningful psychiatric care begins with listening, genuine curiosity, building trust, and developing individualized treatment plans that help patients achieve lasting well-being.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ahad enjoys spending time with his family, friends and his dog, listening to music, going to movies, watching and playing basketball, and cheering on Duke basketball.
