Gabriel Gomez, PMHNP-BC, is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing comprehensive psychiatric care in Hollywood and throughout South Florida. He sees adolescents, adults, and older adults in person at My Psychiatrist Hollywood and through telepsychiatry across Florida, delivering evidence-based treatment for depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, mood disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.

With a clinical foundation built on years of behavioral health nursing, Gabriel approaches mental health care with the understanding that successful treatment extends beyond symptom management. He believes patients achieve the best outcomes when clinical expertise is paired with trust, collaboration, and a clear understanding of each individual’s goals, experiences, and strengths. Every treatment plan is designed to support meaningful progress while respecting each patient’s unique circumstances and values.

Journey and Approach to Care

A South Florida native of Cuban heritage, Gabriel has dedicated the majority of his nursing career to behavioral health, spending six of his seven years as a registered nurse caring for individuals experiencing acute and chronic psychiatric conditions. His experience spans inpatient behavioral health, emergency medicine, intensive care, and outpatient psychiatry, providing him with a broad clinical perspective and a deep appreciation for the complexity of mental health care.

Gabriel earned his Associate Degree in Nursing from Miami Dade College, his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Florida, and his Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialization from Walden University. During his advanced clinical training, he completed more than 640 hours of supervised psychiatric practice, conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, developing DSM-5-TR diagnoses, managing psychotropic medications, providing brief psychotherapy, crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and collaborating on the care of patients with complex psychiatric conditions.

His practice is grounded in evidence-based medicine while recognizing that mental health treatment should never follow a standardized formula. Gabriel takes time to understand each person’s history, current challenges, and long-term goals before developing individualized treatment plans that integrate medication management, patient education, and therapeutic support. He believes informed patients become empowered partners in their care, leading to stronger therapeutic relationships and more sustainable outcomes.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Gabriel provides culturally responsive psychiatric care that reflects the diverse communities of South Florida. His ability to communicate across cultures allows him to build authentic connections with patients and families while delivering care that is respectful, collaborative, and individualized.
