Nithya Santhosh, DO, is a dedicated and compassionate physician currently completing her psychiatry residency at Broward Health. Journey and Approach to Care

Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Santhosh earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Bonaventure University before completing her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Bradenton, Florida. During her clinical rotations, she developed a strong appreciation for South Florida’s diverse communities and chose to remain in the region to complete her psychiatry residency at Broward Health.

Throughout her life, Dr. Santhosh has been naturally drawn to listening to others, understanding their perspectives, and recognizing that every individual experiences life’s challenges differently. Those qualities, combined with her medical education and psychiatric training, shaped her philosophy of providing care that is thoughtful, collaborative, and individualized.

Dr. Santhosh believes the strongest therapeutic relationships begin with trust, empathy, and open communication. She partners closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans that reflect their goals, values, and unique experiences. Her approach emphasizes education, shared decision-making, and evidence-based treatment, helping patients build resilience while working toward meaningful, lasting improvements in their mental health.

She provides care exclusively in English and has extensive training in general adult psychiatry, with experience treating a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions across diverse clinical settings.
