Awvean Farshadi, RMHCI, is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy in Sheridan and throughout South Florida. She works with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and relationship challenges, helping clients develop practical coping skills while gaining insight into their emotional experiences.
Awvean is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward meaningful growth and healing. Her approach focuses on building strong therapeutic relationships and supporting clients in achieving emotional balance and improved well-being.
Awvean believes that healing begins in a space where individuals feel safe, supported, and understood. Her goal is to empower clients to explore their experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and move forward with clarity, resilience, and confidence.
Her Journey and Approach to Care
Awvean earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Through her clinical training and hands-on experience as a student therapist, she developed a strong foundation in assessment, treatment planning, and delivering evidence-based care.
Her therapeutic style is client-centered, collaborative, and culturally responsive. Awvean integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based techniques to help clients better understand patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior while developing practical strategies for change.
Fluent in both English and Farsi, she is able to connect with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring care is inclusive, respectful, and tailored to each person’s unique experiences.
Awvean is passionate about helping clients build resilience, navigate challenges with confidence, and create a more fulfilling and balanced life.
