Dr. Janely Perez, PsyD is a bilingual (English/Spanish) postdoctoral psychology resident at My Psychiatrist, proudly serving the South Florida community with compassionate, culturally informed mental health care. Born and raised in Miami, she understands the diverse needs of our region and is passionate about helping individuals of all ages thrive.
Dr. Perez specializes in psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessments, individual psychotherapy, and evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Her clinical expertise spans a broad range of mental health concerns, including: Mood and anxiety disorders, Behavioral challenges, Neurodevelopmental conditions (such as ADHD and autism), Substance use disorders, Severe mental illness, Crisis intervention and emotional regulation.
Her experience includes work in outpatient clinics, residential programs, inpatient psychiatric units, and primary care settings, allowing her to tailor care to meet patients exactly where they are—both emotionally and developmentally.
Her Journey and Approach to Care
Dr. Perez earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Nova Southeastern University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University. She completed her doctoral internship at Citrus Health Network, where she deepened her training in psychological testing, diagnostic evaluations, and trauma-informed care.
Her approach to treatment is collaborative, integrative, and strengths-based. Dr. Perez believes that therapy is most powerful when it is personalized and rooted in trust. She partners with each patient to uncover their unique strengths, navigate their challenges, and build sustainable strategies for mental and emotional wellness.
Whether she’s conducting a psychological evaluation or providing ongoing therapy, Dr. Perez brings warmth, clarity, and cultural sensitivity to every interaction.
