Her Journey and Approach to Care
Dr. Shahi began her academic journey at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology. Driven by her passion for medicine and mental health, she pursued her Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Ross University School of Medicine. During her medical education, Dr. Shahi completed extensive clinical rotations in Washington DC, Maryland, South Florida, and Chicago, gaining a diverse and comprehensive foundation in psychiatry.
Prior to her residency, Dr. Shahi served as a Research Coordinator, contributing to numerous trials for various psychotropic medications. This role enhanced her expertise in psychiatric treatments and pharmacology, deepening her commitment to advancing mental health care.
As a Psychiatric Resident at Broward Health, Dr. Shahi focuses on destigmatizing mental health, enhancing cultural awareness in psychiatric care, addressing healthcare disparities, exploring innovative psychiatric treatment approaches, and improving the accessibility of mental health resources. She believes in a patient-centered approach, ensuring that each individual receives personalized and effective care tailored to their unique needs.
