Her Journey and Approach to Care
From a young age, Baharak developed deep compassion that led her to become a healer. She earned her medical degree from Azad University in Tehran, Iran, acquiring the art of medicine to nurture and alleviate the suffering of others.
Seeking to broaden her expertise, she pursued an accelerated combined BSN/MSN program for Foreign Educated Physicians at Florida International University, graduating summa cum laude. She then became a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Baharak’s professional journey includes serving as a research sub-investigator for over five leading national research projects funded by prestigious institutions like the National Institute of Health, National Institute of Mental Health, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Through this role, she delved into the dynamics of the mind and the complexities of mental illness, reinforcing her commitment to evidence-based psychiatry.
She has first-authored peer-reviewed publications and co-authored several articles in highly recognized national and international journals. Additionally, she co-authored chapters in books on Environment, Mood Disorders and Suicide (2010) and Child Health and Human Development (2011), published by Nova Science Publishers.
