Maggie Perkal is a dedicated and compassionate therapist at My Psychiatrist Oakland Park. Recently graduating from Fordham University with a Master’s degree in Social Work, Maggie is passionate about mental health advocacy and supporting individuals through challenging times.
As a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern, Maggie is committed to continuous professional growth, actively engaging in supervision and expanding her knowledge through workshops and training opportunities. Her clinical expertise includes Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD, where she utilizes evidence-based interventions to foster resilience and empowerment in her clients.
Maggie’s professional journey includes providing therapeutic services at the Puerto Rican Family Institute in NYC, where she conducted client intake assessments, facilitated individual and group therapy sessions, and maintained accurate and confidential client records. She has also worked with diverse student populations at Hudson Helps in Jersey City, offering counseling and assistance with various services, including housing and financial aid.
Her previous roles include serving as a Life Coaching and Counseling Intern at Life Hacks with Nancy, where she assisted in writing case plans and researching coping mechanisms for clients, and as a Caseworker for the American Red Cross, providing crisis intervention care and connecting clients to essential resources.
Maggie holds certifications in Youth Mental Health First Aid and QPR Gatekeeper, underscoring her commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based treatment. Her approach to patient care is centered on creating an environment where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered to overcome their challenges.
