In this dynamic role, you will collaborate closely with physicians, clinicians, practice manager, and our staff. Your professional expertise will be instrumental in providing top-notch care for our patients. At My Psychiatrist, a Certified Medical Assistant isn’t just a team member; you are the primary liaison between our valued patients, our medical team, and our staff.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Medical History and Patient Information Management: You’ll be responsible for obtaining and updating patient medical history and personal information, ensuring our psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners have accurate and up-to date data for each patient.
- Patient Assessment and Care: Prior to each appointment, you’ll assess the patient, measure vital signs, and record this data accurately. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Compliance with Health Standards: You’ll ensure that all operations adhere to HIPAA/OSHA standards, maintaining the utmost confidentiality and safety in patient care.
- Laboratory Work Coordination: Your role includes ordering, obtaining, and inputting lab orders, ensuring everything is prepared and in place for each patient’s appointment.
- Medication Management: You will monitor medication expiration dates, prepare and administer medication as prescribed, and communicate effectively with patients regarding their medications. This includes ordering and administering injections, monitoring patients post-injection, and liaising with providers for any additional orders.
- Pharmacy Communication: You will be responsible for contacting pharmacies for prescription refills, ensuring a seamless medication management process for our patients.
- Team Collaboration: As a key liaison between patients, medical staff, and providers, your ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively is vital.
- Additional Duties: You will perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our team.

Qualifications:
- Must have a current Medical Assistant Certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures.
- Familiarity with infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality policies.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EHR) platforms.
