What You Bring:
Our mental health facility is looking for an Insurance Verification Specialist to assist with medical billing. In this role, you will contact health insurance companies via phone and/or EMR system verify coverage for new patients and re-verify coverage for existing patients. Applicants should have knowledge of medical terminology and be comfortable with outbound calling.
- Associates or Bachelors degree
- 3-4 Years of experience with Insurance Verification
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
- Computer proficiency, including with Microsoft Office programs
- Phone skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Contact insurance companies to verify patient coverage
- Verification process could include electronic validation of pharmacy coverage and medical eligibility.
- Verifies patient specific benefits and precisely documents specifics for various payer plans including patient coverage, cost share, and access/provider options according to Program specific SOPs.
- Obtain prior authorizations for patient admission and treatments
- Update patient information into our system
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
