Baharak Khabazghazvini, APRN

Baharak Khabazghazvini’s career is the result of extensive exposure to diverse cultures, populations, and contrary environments. At a young age, she developed deep compassion that led her to become a healer: a devotee of medicine who can nurture and alleviate the pain and suffering of others, so she acquired the art of medicine. She then successfully earned her medical degree from Azad University in Tehran, Iran.

B. Khabazghazvini went on to pursue an accelerated combined BSN/MSN program for Foreign Educated Physicians at Florida International University; she then completed an additional degree to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified, graduating summa cum laude.

Following her studies, B. Khabazghazvini became a research sub-investigator for more than five leading national research projects (all of which were funded by the National Institute of Health, National Institute of Mental Health, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention). In this role, she discovered the dynamics of the mind and the complexity of mental illness, and she was introduced to evidence-based psychiatry.

B. Khabazghazvini has first-authored peer-reviewed publications and co-authored several published articles in highly recognizable national and international journals. She also co-authored three chapters of books–in Environment, Mood Disorders and Suicide (2010) and Child Health and Human Development (2011)–published by Nova Science Publishers.
