Gerardo Javier Ruz, PMHNP-BC, who goes by Javier, is a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a strong background in critical care and a deep commitment to evidence-based mental health treatment. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Gerardo brings cultural sensitivity and clinical expertise to every patient interaction, ensuring individuals from all walks of life feel seen, heard, and supported.

With over nine years of nursing experience across leading healthcare systems, including Memorial Healthcare System and Holy Cross Health, Gerardo has cared for patients in some of the most high-pressure environments. His transition into psychiatric care is rooted in a desire to address the mental health needs he witnessed in diverse and often underserved communities. Now, as a provider at My Psychiatrist in Orlando, he combines his clinical rigor with genuine empathy to deliver holistic and personalized treatment.

As a U.S. Army veteran, he is especially passionate about supporting fellow veterans and the LGBTQ+ community, offering safe, affirming, and judgment-free care.
