Irma Lacayo is a Licensed mental health counselor in Florida. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and her master’s degree from Barry University.
She is a dedicated psychotherapist with over 26 years of experience in the mental health field successfully helping children, adolescents, young adults, and older adults. She has treated a variety of mental health disorders and has worked with different populations.
Irma treats those struggling with depression, anxiety, anger, stress, grief, trauma, self-esteem, relationships and family issues, social and communication skills, OCD and ADHD. Through empathy, she strives to understand each client’s specific context and unique perspective and views each counseling relationship as a collaborative endeavor. Her personal, educational, and professional life experiences have provided her with a strong foundation of patience and compassion to effectively help her clients.
She uses a wide variety of therapeutic techniques and strategies including cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused brief therapy, and coping/calming techniques to encourage a sense of empowerment, self-efficacy, and self-value.
Irma believes that you were not put on this earth to suffer in silence and that you were created to live a worthy life. She is warm, friendly, and thoughtful. She offers virtual and in-person appointments for Florida residents. She has experience working with diverse clients across their lifespans.
