Jennyfer Alvarado, RCSWI is a bilingual therapist based in Lake Nona with over 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families across clinical, educational, and community settings. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is dedicated to helping individuals navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and cultural stressors with compassion, clarity, and purpose.
Her Journey and Approach to Care
Jennyfer began her professional career in Venezuela, where she worked for more than two decades as a psychologist in private practice, schools, and community programs. During this time, she provided individual and group therapy, facilitated family and school-based interventions, and led conferences and workshops focused on emotional well-being, communication, and personal development. These experiences shaped her belief that effective mental health care must honor the individual within their family, culture, and broader environment.
Her interdisciplinary academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and graduate-level education in Human Resources Management, Higher Education, and Social Work. This diverse foundation allows Jennyfer to integrate clinical insight with educational, organizational, and systemic perspectives. Now practicing in the United States as a Registered Master’s Level Clinical Social Work Intern, she works collaboratively with caregivers, schools, and multidisciplinary teams, empowering clients as active participants in their healing and growth.
Clinical Focus and Therapeutic Approach
Jennyfer’s clinical work integrates evidence-based and holistic modalities tailored to each client’s needs. Her approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Narrative Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and mindfulness-based interventions. She also incorporates art therapy–informed techniques, group dynamics and facilitation, and conflict resolution and communication skills to support emotional expression and connection.
She is experienced in trauma-informed and culturally responsive care, with a strong focus on family systems and school-based interventions, emotional regulation, and coping skills development. Jennyfer has extensive experience supporting anxiety, depression, trauma- and stress-related disorders, ADHD and executive functioning challenges, parenting concerns, grief and loss, acculturation stress, and life transitions. Her background in life coaching and career exploration, developed through years of work in Venezuela, further supports clients in building confidence, direction, and resilience. She also emphasizes psychoeducation for children, adolescents, and caregivers, empowering families with practical tools that extend beyond the therapy room.
