Born in Jersey City, NJ and raised in Florida’s Treasure Coast, Raphael started his journey in the medical field by serving as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge in 2007 he obtained his Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA. During his nursing career, he has worked in the emergency department, critical care unit, and psychiatry while obtaining his BSN at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He graduated with his Advanced Practice Nursing degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, specializing in psychiatry. He relocated back home to Florida to join VMA in December 2020. Raphael is fluent in English and Spanish and is also certified for Suboxone Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder.
