Shawn Shekar, MD

Dr. Shawn Shekar is a skilled and caring psychiatrist dedicated to improving lives. He earned his medical degree from the Trinity School of Medicine in St. Vincent and Grenadines, where he developed a strong foundation in the field of medicine.

Currently, Dr. Shekar is diligently working towards completing his Psychiatric residency at Broward Health Imperial Point and Broward Health Medical Center. He is deeply committed to gaining valuable experience in both Adult Inpatient and Out-Patient Medicine, ensuring he can provide comprehensive care to his patients.

Dr. Shekar’s areas of interest extend to interventional psychiatry, where he specializes in innovative treatments such as TMS Therapy (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) and ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy). He understands the importance of staying at the forefront of medical advancements to offer the best possible treatments to his patients.

With a genuine passion for psychiatry and a caring demeanor, Dr. Shekar always puts his patients’ well-being first. He takes the time to understand their individual needs and concerns, providing personalized care to ensure their mental health journey is as smooth as possible.
