Psychometric Testing

Understand your mind — or your child’s — with clarity and confidence.
Gain meaningful insights into cognitive and emotional health through advanced, science-based testing performed by licensed professionals. Whether for yourself or your child, our assessments provide actionable information to support growth, learning, and wellbeing.

Why Psychometric Testing?

Psychometric testing uncovers what’s beneath the surface — helping you understand how the brain functions, how emotions are processed, and what might be contributing to challenges. These assessments provide objective data to support accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment.

  • What does psychometric testing involve?

Psychometric testing begins with an initial consultation to review your concerns and personal history. This is followed by a testing session that includes performance tasks and questionnaires. Afterward, you will receive a detailed report with a diagnosis (if applicable) and personalized recommendations.

  • How long does a session take?

Consultations typically last one hour. Testing sessions are generally four hours, and if additional time is required, a second session of 2–4 hours may be scheduled. A 30-minute feedback session is available upon request.

  • Are the tests covered by insurance?

Coverage varies depending on your individual insurance plan.

  • Can children or adolescents be tested?

Yes. Testing is available for individuals aged six and older. Please note that certain evaluations, such as ASD testing, may be restricted to specific age ranges.

  • How are results shared and interpreted?

Test results are securely added to your My Psychiatrist medical record and sent via encrypted email. Your clinician will help interpret the results and provide guidance based on your individual needs.

  • What should I do to prepare for my test?
To get the most accurate results, we recommend:
    • Getting a good night’s sleep
    • Eating a healthy breakfast
    • Avoiding stimulant medications unless instructed otherwise
    • Bringing water, a snack, and a sweater for comfort
